This is one I finished this weekend - Gold Mistral Fountain with a blue "Diamond Cast" blank from Tim McKenzie. (Tim is just getting his business off the ground - blanks will be available for purchase next week.) The photos do not reflect the diamond dust which is cast in the blank and sparkles in natural light - really neat blanks and worth a try. In this case, I also turned the finial cap and center band from the blank as well, but I did so on my metal lathe using measurements instead of using the available bushings. Thanks for looking!

The Gold & Blue are a great match.

Funny thing - I turned the blank with rhodium in mind. I am blessed to have a few of Phil's kits on hand, and once turned and polished, I knew that gold was the answer. This is the melding of great work by Phil Dart and Tim McKenzie. Both gentlemen have taken their work to a special and unique level. I'm just the monkey with the lathe! (I hope the two of them don't cut me out when they realize that!)

Gorgeous Pen Greg! Is Tim on here or will he be when he is ready to start selling? That is a gorgeous blanks and I for one would like one!!

I'm not sure if he's on this one or not - I met him through IAP. Once his new site is up, I will post it though. On top of making great blanks, he's also a great person...always nice giving your money to someone you like! Thanks again for the nice words about the pen.

As I mentioned earlier, this blank was made by Tim McKenzie. His new website is up ( McKenzie Penworks ) and his blanks will also be available at Signature Pen, though I am not sure if they have his photos up on their site yet. Take a look. It's great material to turn and finish, and great looking too.
