Can't take credit for this one .. :monkon:

Had some shed time with my grandson in the week and one of the things he wanted to do was turn a new FP ready for the new school year.

This is the result, so proud of him.

Kit; Beaufort Mistral
Blank; Firestorm acrylic (reverse painted)
Finish; sanded with W&D to 1500 then Ferecala to a shine and polished finish.

Every now and then a gem of a pen results from Grandfather and Grandson made even more special when then the pen was entirely down to the junior one.

Young man be very proud as I am sure Eamonn is feeling right now.

Thanks for sharing band showing you two.

Peter.

Your pride is well placed Eamonn - a beautiful pen; excellent choice of blank and well finished. You are obviously a brilliant tutor - and should take pride in that also. Terrific photo too!

How old is your G /Son?

12 Mark.

He has been playing in the man cave for a few years now.

It knocked his confidence when he was turning a small bowl and picked up a 3/4" gouge rather than a bowl gouge and it dug in and ripped it out the dovetail on the chuck and it whistled just over hit right ear hole..

I should have been watching him but as he had been doing quite a few things over the last few years and made some nice little small bowls so confidence was fairly high and never had a problem.

He knows why and how it happened so see how he goes now.

Done him a bit of good as he knows they bite back if you don't pay attention and get complacent.

A 12 y/o that want a fountain pen.:bravo:
He will have to tell his mates that it is an iPen,

Ha ha ha. Yep he has used a FP for a few years, especially in English but not so much in other lessons.

He has sold a few to friends at school, he calls them Finkpen (short for Fountain ink pen) I think he might have something in the marketing there.

He gets told they are "Sick" which apparently means good :rolling:
