This one is a gun metal Virage, with a coal black Rhino blank. It's for my friend's fiance, who is a police officer.

I've never segmented acrylic before, and I have to say I didn't have much expectation for success. The blanks looked pretty dicey after they were drilled and trimmed. I used a piece of aluminum angle, waxed paper, and clamps to hold everything together. The blue is 0.10" pick guard material that I got off Ebay. The glue is medium CA. I cut the blanks at 45 degrees on my miter saw.

But as I turned them, I began to be cautiously optimistic.

Then when they were turned and polished, I was near ecstatic!

I've wanted to make Thin Blue Line pens for a while now, and went into this as just an experiment. But I'm very, very pleased with how they turned out.

Yes Jim, you have every right to be over the moon with your excellent results. One question, what is pick guard material?

From Wiki:

A pickguard (also known as scratchplate) is a piece of plastic or other (often laminated) material that is placed on the body of a guitar, mandolin or similar plucked string instrument. The main purpose of the pickguard is to protect the guitar's finish from being scratched by the guitar pick.
