This one is for a friend of mine, who is a deputy sheriff. The kit is a venerable Executive in gun metal. The blank is a Rhino Blank called "Diggin' For Gold", and it is spectacular! There are spots that change from gold to silver as you turn it in your hands. The blue is the same 0.10" pickguard that I used before.

I glued it up the same way I did the first two Thin Blue Line pens I made, using the same CA glue. But this one popped apart when I was drilling it. So I glued it back together with two-part epoxy, putting the tube in it for alignment. I didn't know if it would work, but it did. I was happy about that!

Like the first two, this blank looked pretty dicey after trimming it. But like before, it turned and polished great.

Thanks, the heat here makes the five minute epoxy set too quick, I like the idea of it being in bottles rather than tubes.

Keep it in the fridge. That will slow it down.

I like the concept of the "thin blue line" for a law enforcement pen. Did you come up with this idea? I buy plastic here for my center bands. http://www.tapplastics.com/product/plastics/plastic_sheets_rolls/acrylic_sheets_color/341

Your pen is beautiful.

Thanks for the compliment. No, it's not my idea. Several here have made versions of Thin Blue Line pens.

I have a Tap Plastics near my house. I'll have to check them out.
