    Now, here's a thing...

    I didn't really think that this difference would be so dramatic.

    These two pens are made from exactly the same material, which is Conway Stewart Opal.
    On the same kit, obviously different platings.

    The first one has had the blank back painted white and the second black!
    Opal is a particularly translucent material, but still, quite startling.

    The wonders of reflected light!

    Yep, this is an amazing difference. I always paint tubes now even if I think the blank are not translucent.
    They could be two entirely different blanks. Nice one Mark, stunning pens
