Twister
13-03-15, 08:32
All entrants must have at least 25 posts by the time the vote is open.

Every forum member can vote for the pen \ pencil pair they like best, entrants may not vote for their own pair. If there is a tie in the votes I will break the tie with my vote.
Photographs

The pen & pencil should be photographed on a piece of white photocopy paper or similar white paper without a texture. There should be no props in the photograph.

You should supply two photographs of the pair
1 with nib \lead retracted
1 with nib \ lead extended

The photos should be 800 pixels wide and your pair should be almost as wide. If you need help with this, either PM me or ask here.

If there are any special features in your pen \ pencil you can also include a close up of the feature if you wish.
Modifications can be made...alternate centre-band,omitted centre-band etc.
This is not a kit-less competition so please nothing extreme, ask first if I will allow it if you unsure
The competition starts Saturday 14th March
The competition ends Saturday 11th April
The competition is open to worldwide members (prizes will however be restrictive outside UK)

When you send me your photos of your creation can you also include which kit you have used and which wood or acrylic/other and finish

lets make it fun please

Nice clear and precise rules. I will enter if I have time to turn a couple (busy every weekend from now till the end of April)

I don't understand init? :funny::funny::funny:
Very easy. Your blank can be any material you want. Unless your name is Brian, then you have to use ACRYLIC :funny:

Steve. Either I have missed it or it isn't there.
But the rules don't say how many entries per person :thinks:
I'm guessing it is one entry per person, or can we enter 20 times if we have the time to make that many :face::wink:

Really looking forward to this Steve both creating my own entry & viewing all the forum members efforts :thumbs:

so have you got a plan?

The Prize
stolen from Peter (but modified) sorry

I have decided to buy 40 worth of lottery tickets and any win over 200 will be split 50/50 with me getting 50% and 50% going to the competition. The first 30 will go to first place and and if more is won then second and third place will also receive money. I will not be splitting it so that people get a 1 prize, if any win is several thousand then I don't see why it can't be split it so that 1st, 2nd and 3rd get the lions share between them but that everyone who entered the competition also shares in the good fortune. Non UK residents will be allocated a maximum of 2500 which will be redeemable at a UK Woodturning supplier of their choice.

Once the competition ends I will purchase the tickets for a date after the competition's end and will post photos of the tickets so you can all check the numbers. I will purchase separate euro lottery tickets.

I wish you all the best of luck with the competition
I just hope there is a win big enough for every entrant to receive a share.

capless...my interpretation no lid i.e not an omega style
so slimline streamline sierra zeta if u can retrofit a pencil in one..etc...there are probably many more..just nothing with a separate lid \ top \ cap

does this make sense?
