The old man being interviewed at the end said (my Japanese is very rusty) that he has been making pens in that way since he was a boy and that most of the machinery and tools used are almost as old as he is. Interesting methods particularly the expanding wooden collets but I think our 'elf and safety' people would have kittens!

That was so interesting thanks for showing it and we have all the fancy equipment I didn't see one bit of scratch in that clip who has got it right it would be interesting to make a tool like he used to shape the pen just for the joy of trying something different

Thanks for adding Mike, i wonder what the production a day would be for this work, and what is there market? :thinks:
