I drill my trustone blanks on my Vicmarc VL300 lathe, mainly because I can turn the speed down to 50 RPM.
For example if turning a Baron I drill the 15/32" first then cut this off leaving 1/8" extra each end. And then drill the 25/64", making sure the drill does not break out
I use SHARP standard bits for drilling.
Trustone hates heat take short cuts and clear out the shavings frequently.
I glue in the tubes using two-part epoxy.
Once the glue has dried, I sand the ends and get ready for turning.

For turning I use a SHARP 1/2" shew, sharpening it as needed.
I normally start sanding with 240 grit sand paper then 320 grit sand paper.

Then I start wet sanding starting from 400, 600, 800, 1000, 1200, 1500, 2000, 2500.

Then I use Miguires Plastx polish.

Assemble as normal bob your uncle.

Works for me:thumbs:
