As a Northerner, Phil, I believe you're supposed to refer to that as a 'platter'? Refer to Woody for the acceptable nomenclature, we defer to Brian as Southerners ...

Very lovely, whatever it's supposed to be called!

Definition Platter A large shallow dish or plate, used especially for serving food.
Bowl a round, deep dish or basin used for food
So Phil a very nice bowl now you have to move away from the starter shape a good bit of turning and an excellent finish now try and move away from the dogs dish shape and that isn't an insult everyone dose that shape to start with and very few are aware of it till after a few years and most say why didn't anyone tell me so consider yourself told LOL

I shall happily take that comment in the spirit I'm sure it was meant, coming from such a master as yourself.

I have a lovely piece of yew just waiting until I can get across to yours and be shown how to do it justice.

This one was mainly an exercise for me in tool control and that whole thing of getting used to the "keep the bevel on" thing. Along with the finishing stuff as well.

A good learning curve for me and SWMBO likes it which is a good job as well :funny:
