One thing with the ca you could just put it all under one and just put ca as there are so many different types

There is also truoil which is a rifle stock finish which I have use on pens which works

Super info for a newbie, thank you for sharing Walter ..It's now on my Desktop for instant reference. One thing not on you list which I have used is Polywatch a compound for restoring watch 'glasses'

Hi Walter, I'm just arriving at having a go with something "not wood" , finishes are almost overwhelming for a beginner, so it is excellent to have a reference. I imagine everyone who has been going for a time has a shelf full of tins, tubes, and pots of assorted finishes!

I used Wood Turners Finish extensively until I switched to EEE and Shellawax. Is it worthwhile to add a recommendations column or is that going to be too subjective.
