Hello all. My name is John and go by the sign-on name jttheclockman. Some may have heard of me. But I found this site by accident serfing the web and I am always interested in talking shop with any penturners. I love to do segmenting for pens as well as casting to make some odd blanks that are not available commercially. I am from NJ in the USA. I love all aspects of woodworking and basically started scrollsawing for a hobby and turned it into a small hobby/business. Got into pen turning about 8 years ago and have slowly expanded this. It is another fun hobby and keeps me out of trouble. Even though it can get to be a bit expensive I do make some money from it.

I look forward to chatting with you all and sharing some of my ideas and photos and will also look for all your photos as well. Love to see what other pen turners are up to and hopefully see some new and exciting things. Maybe we can drive each other to new heights. Take care and see you all.

John, I think I pointed Jim to the thread on IAP which had your snooker cue blank on it. Love your work and always eager to see more of it. We're a little more lighthearted than the IAP lot, so a thick skin is a prerequisite - particularly when that fella Terry is around ...

He always starts out sounding oh-so-civilised, then you turn your back for a second and he's haring down your driveway with one of your chisels ...

Well I would like to thank all for the warm welcome. Yes Jim that is one of my segmented pens that I made. Good to see some people still like it. As far as the banter goes, I like it already but I think I am going to have to look for a translator for some of the words used already and the phrases. I hope I don't insult anyone with my English.
