Hi Sharon, it's lovely to see something like this, as a beginner it is often hard to know how to to do something when there is no background in a related area. The wood looks lovely too!
Regards Terry

The neighbors have a big 50 year old African Sumac tree that is slowly dying. Whenever I want a piece, I just go cut out a dead limb :love_it:

Thats a good idea sharon do you actually cut the side with the screws in it as it looks to me there could be a lot of wasted wood. :sob:

I presume after the first significant cut you would have a flat surface to use with a normal guide.

So no waste screws in an offcut anyway.

Kind regards Peter.:thinks:

I take it out of the sled and finish it with the fence. With a round log, as you get past half way, the curve of the log comes up off the sled. You either have to reposition it on the sled or take it off and finish it with the fence. Since you now have a flat surface, it is easy to cut against the fence.
