Looks good - I wonder how comfortable it would be to write with?

It strikes me that you could easily undercut the central cove to create a captive ring - now that would be funky!

I agree with you Matty. I prefer a plain shape and let the natural grain of the wood provide the beauty.

basically, that's what I meant...... for me a pen is to sow off the materials/wood used....... more than my own abilities.. (which is a good thing, as I have none.)
