5" blanks are useful for lots of kits, for example slimlines need just over 4 inches.

120mm is a good length to cover the basic slim line pens, the tubes being 52mm long. but some kits that I would use these on are longer and would prefer at least 140mm.

At 150 (6") the end user could have a good choice of what to do with them then..

Longest I have turned so far is a Jr Gent - I got that out of a 5" Purlpleheart blank. Snakewood at 5" sounds good to me!

What kits need 140mm???

If a woman ever says to you that size doesn't matter, just ignore her, she would soon start moaning when the wallpaper started to peel.

I had some snakewood the other day and once I finished turning the pen the next day it had split the full length of the pen when I looked at it on the web it says it is prone to doing this

I have heard that even if you dont get it hot it can crack

Any wood can do that, but snakewood is prone to cracking/splitting after it has been hot.
