Not a turned item but I thought I'd share, made from Maple this is for the letter opener I made a few weeks back.

I decided to give the letter opener as a Christmas present to a customer but then realised without some sort of holder it would just roll off the table so I figure this would be a good compromise.

That's a great solution and such a lovely opener and holder. Maybe Brian can personalise letter openers too.

Thanks for the comments, much apreciated

I like that Doug - what acrylic is that?

It's called Polygem, reconstituted stone in resin I believe, this one is called purple passion. Turners Retreat sell it though Woody kindly gave me this particular blank.

Top idea, simple yet really neat! Will pinch the idea if not patented. :winking:

Thanks & feel free to pinch the idea that's what I think is so great about forums & the internet in general, there are so many ideas out there which in the normal scheme of things we'd never get to see, but the internet brings them into our homes
