Not too sure how to describe this. I thought I'd better start doing something other than pens so threw a log of yew on the lathe and this is how it turned out.

You can`t go wrong with Yew, that`s one striking piece of timber Keith, great effort :thumbs:

It was Jim although the piece was a little narrow for it to be used to its fullest. I did say I'd do an in depth detailed review of the ultima so here it is

Good effort Keith keep it up mate and I agree with you it is a great tool the deepest vase I have done with mine so far is 9"

Seems there are more of Yew than meets the lathe. loved the claws in the base after talking of birds of prey. The landscape in the Yew piece is exciting as well.
