I have a Scheppach Basto 1 Bandsaw and the blade is getting a bit tired.
With this being my first bandsaw can anyone recommend a good supplier, tpi, width etc etc...
Used only for Penturning and occasionally blanks from small logs or planks.

My blade details are:
Sawblade length: 1490 mm
Sawblade width (min‐max.) 3,5 to 12 mm

Thanks

Hi Rowdy,

I have used these Trucut, The Narrow Bandsaw Specialists - Home for many years now, my dad always used them before me as well.

It all depends on what you are planning to do with the band saw and how long you have had the last blade in for..

TBH replace the blade with "like for Like" with what you have in there currently.

I have a few smaller blades, 1/4", 1/2" 3/5" and 1" blades and TBH the one that is in currently is the 1" for ripping and shaping blanks. Cutting blanks to size Etc, Ect..

My idea is "what will do allot will do a little"

I have used Tuffsaws for years and they have always been excellent, although I have heard some reports of late that they have gone down hill a tad.
I am sure others here will put you wise on that.
Good luck with your search let us know what you decide?

I always used These Rowdy, without issue, but reading the good reviews about Tuffsaw i started buying from them .. I am now back at Just Bands due to the last two blades i bought snapping, they did replace the first one to be fair, but after the second one broke i just called it a day with them ...

Rowdy, Walter got there first, I was going to post this one doityourself.com, but think Walters is better. Three teeth in the cut minimum is the golden rule so if you're cutting slimline blanks I'd go for a six tip skip tooth, the wider the better. Don't go for a bimetallic for such a short blade, the radius on the wheels will mean a short blade life as it will delaminate and snap.

Too be honest I cant fault Ian at Tuffsaws, just tell him your saw and what you need to cut with it and he'll send you the right blade.

Really nice chap, excellent blades and excellent price.

I think Jim has been a little unlucky to be honest, im sure if you gave him a ring Jim, he would be glad of your feedback and sympathetic too your cause.:nooidea:
