Phil,

Yes, and bunch suggests more than 1!! He is a strange character, specialises in making longbow staves and selling bits and pieces that he has acquired. Not exactly a wood yard but more of a past the church first house on the left, down the side alley and the light switch is somewhere in the shed! From the general woodturners perspective there wasnt much that he had that was any use. From a penturners view he had one or two pieces that were interesting, I acquired a piece of purple coloured yew and I cant remember the other one!

Are you able to do a recce when you next pass Woody?

Take a guess
If it is the same outfit the prices seem very steep, for what look like quite small off cuts.

Looks fascinating purple Yew sounds intriguing in The UK there must be incredible numbers of outlets, watching a program last night of a village 50 miles out of London what has been open and wooded areas seem to be shrinking fast giving way to intensive housing and dormitory places from big cities. Here timbers I have seen in hundreds of tonnes for sale have become endangered in the last few years is this so in the UK?

Kind regards Peter.
