Made this device to use in place of the tool rest holder in my Hercus Metal Lathe then found it ideal to cut tool steel bits and rotating retaining slot for spring circlips.

The aluminium extrusion is sold to house the ends of tipping back trays on trucks to house the swivel pin. Since then I have bought cheap as from garage sales a couple of small bandsaws and using these with steel cutting blades and a wood support easy to cut cleanly brass cartridges. Holding cartridges in the metral lathe was easy using collets the taper is ever so slight really. The corian base to get the right height and the aluminium round with the shape to fit the tool rest holder the blade used the Dremel black cut off one.

Kind regards Peter.
