Just picked this lot up and not sure what species of tree these logs these are i only have the pic of the bark and the wood is white

there is two different trees ash is not a bad guess but not really sure i think cutting in to them might show more

From memory the top one does look very similar to the Ash given to me by Terry ... :winking:

Bottom one not sure ... :down:

The top one looks like the Ash tree growing in my back yard the bark is similar and it cuts whiteish my tree is very brittle in the branches strong but brittle.

Top one does look like ash, if it was cut recently you may see what appears to be a very slight reddish stain on the wood, thats ash, outside chance it could be grey poplar but difficult to be certain that its ash without being able to guage the texture. Cant make out the second one at all. Reckon everyone else is right, first one ash.

the first one is sort of slightly rough but also smooth

just asked my tree surgoen and he think the first one could be ailanthus or tree of heaven so not sure now but the second one all he say is it looks like a crocodile
