If anyone says "on a lathe" I'll be VERY annoyed :funny:

Anything I need to know before I have a bash at this wood ? It's only lightly spalted and seems to be very solid wood.

Blanks are 7 inch dia by 3 inch.

Thanks and will do ! Am looking forward to these blanks, got 7 on fleaby for 21 quid, so not too bad for practicing with. 2 of them appear to have some nice contrasting grain patterns.

Just stop now and again Phil to check if there are any holes that need filling. The one I put up just now had lots of small splits and holes. I just kept filling them in and starting again.

Phil, to overplan is normal but you have so many very soon you will know and be telling us of your experiences also expect the unexpected in every blank you turn some sensational some downers. Have success Peter.
