This list my help you.

BLACK = Emery Compound, a coarse abrasive material for removal of scratches, pits, paint, rust etc.
BROWN = Tripoli compound used for general purpose cut and color on most soft metals.
WHITE = Blizzard compound, used for color and final finish of harder metals, has a cutting action.
RED = Jeweller’s Rouge, designed to polish without any cutting action. Safe on thin plates. Use on its own wheel.
BLUE = A dryer, almost greaseless wheel - designed to polish without any cutting action. Safe on thin plates. Use on its own wheel.
GREEN = Used exclusively for Stainless Steel.

All sorted Matt. Just about to send. The next choices are the buffs themselves then the speed you run them at. I have found great safety with metals and timber using some form of mandrel to hold the item can save up to an hour in my workshop if it gets away.

Thanks Ed,just what I was looking for!

guess Green is the final stage

The final stage is when you are happy with it, there is no final stage until you are happy with the finish you have achieved.

I have spent the morning cleaning laptops which are supposed to be cleaned before being presented to me.
Everybody has their own idea of what clean is.
I wont accept finger prints on screens especially when they are not touchscreen lappy's.
Others here are happy to work in filth, let them.
That is not only me being fussy I have to work on these and pass them to the next user who may be even worse and refuse to accept it because it is grubby, I am fussy on their behalf init?
