Well I use Medium....... as I am Special??? :whistling:
And I use small doubled up patches of Cotton from cut up karate suits....:bwink: pure... cotton...!

I also use branded superglue due to various failures over the years.

Do you ever mix CA with oil?

I saw a vid a few days ago where the finish was BLO/CA mixed on the cloth just prior to application.

Gave a great finish!

How many coats of CA do you recommend for a solid, gloss finish?

If i am honest i believe adding BLO, is just extra labour as when i compared this to a pen done with just CA i couldn't see any difference? :thinks:

The BLO serves a threefold purpose: 1) it brings out the natural colour of the wood, 2) it fills the pores of the wood, and 3) it acts as an accelerant for the CA Glue so that it dries within seconds. When I ve done it the reaction has been so violent that it brought up blisters on my finger through about eight layers of paper towel!

I have noticed a definite improvement in finish with the CA/BLO technique, although that might be my cr*p finishing! :fart:
