Took a tree down about 10 weeks ago, the boring stuff went in the log shed though I kept a few pieces back, that looked a bit more interesting.
When the nice man, who bought my Union Jubilee turned up yesterday, we spent some time talking about, and looking at wood. (as you do).
I noticed this piece was trying its best to become kindling, so turned it today as a practice piece.

Wall thickness (2 to 3mm) varies slightly, as I had to support the outside of the bowl with my hand, as I took the finishing cuts.
Bloody thing was wobbling like a jelly!
I'll let it dry, then take some more pics to show how it moves.
Regards,
Neil.

Thats very nice Neil, a bit thinner than I would be able to take it so in my mind that makes it even more special. I'll be interested to see what its like when dry.

At this thickness it will probably be fully dry, in a couple of days.

That's really nice bit of turning Neil, thinner than I would have liked to have gone..:

It's really nice to see the new shape it's taking as well..
