5 x 2 maple, fancied a go at the square bowl with wings type thing so here it is.

Quite enjoyed doing this, it's wicked when it bangs your knuckles though :funny:

Melamine lacquer finish which I'm not happy with, think it may have suffered over winter in the garage.

Looks great,I couldn't get on with melamine so went with sanding sealer burnished then friction polish over the top of that, then wax.

If you are using the wipe on Melamine, it can be revived by thinning down with a little Cellulose thinners Phil.

That's great Phil, well done, looks like you have always been doing them.

You must have great timing to only turn four sides on the log / spindle to make it square, mine only seem to end up going round....

Good to be different Phill you trendsetter felt the knuckle remark not fun anytime. Finishes are personal I like this one.
