Hi Folks, thought I would share a few things I have turned in the past.

A beautiful burr Elm natural edge bowl that I turned whilst at a training session with Jimmy Clewes a few years ago. I actually took the roughed out piece with me and asked Jimmy if he would help me finish it. He started by saying "lets get the outside shape right" to which I replied "it's OK I think. I spent the rest of the day getting the shape right, he was absolutely right.

It's about 10" x 5"

Burr Oak natural edge bowl. This wood came from a tree trunk we harvested in Sandbach. A woodturning buddy said he knew of a trunk of Elm about 10 feet tall and 18" diameter that was full fo burr. He had cleared it with the owner for us to go and get it. When we got there it turned out to be Oak, 16 feet tall and 43" at the base! it was full of burr though, at least he had that bit right. It took us two weekends to cut it all up on site and cart it away, well worth it.

A burr Silver Birch hollow form. No story with this piece. About 10" tall.

A pierced Maple baby rattle. I make these for new family members. This particular rattle was for the son of a good friend of mine. I use the Mick Hanbury burrs to do the piercing. The sphere is about 2" dia.

This piece has two images, the before and after. This was a big ugly lump that a tree surgeon gave me (good of him). I held on to it for quite some time before feeling brave enough and buying a big enough lathe to actually mount it. It is Sycamore and about 13" x 6". It was a real challenge. Hand sanded the majority due to the natural edge.

And here is how it came out.

This is a beautiful Bubbinga platter about 10" dia. A stunning grain pattern that really popped when I oiled it.

Thanks for looking and I hope you like what you see. Any comments welcome.

Every single piece is exquisite Eric and I didn't even know that word existed until I saw your bowls.
