This is the jig that i use on the bandsaw for making my Celtic Cross pens. The mitre fence is a permanent fixture on the sled and set at 45° and can return to 90°. The toggle clam is used to hold a block of wood that is used for the stop, so that the blank returns to the same spot to do the cross cuts.

The toggle clamp is a good idea Jim, better than using an over the top G clamp or something similar, as they always seem to get in the way.

How thick is the Ali?

Is the mitre fence attached to the Ali plate where you can see the hole in the top of the mitre fence ?

Mark the plate is 6mm think ... There is a double edge screw metal dowel screwed into the plate, this acts as a stop for both the 45° and 90° positions as well as tightening the mitre fence in position.

Jim, how about a series of photos showing the order that you cut and glue the pieces.
