Made a start on 2 big Elm bowls last week. Just getting them to the round and roughed out to help with the drying time. Started at 12" x 8". I have done 1 with the bark up and the other with the bark down. Left them at about 1.25" thick. Hopefully will be stable and not crack. I have sealed them all round inside and out with PVA solution but left top and bottom edges unsealed.
