Hi I thought some of you may be interested in my very simple little Jigs that can be binned after if like me you have limited space made from 9mm MDF to be used up against the band saw fence ideal for the one off pen and inexpensive the angle on mine one is 45deg the other I haven't got a clue but it is to cut a long knot on a sierra blank I hope this is of use to some of you newbies to pen making enjoy and happy tirning

The first one I made to do two different sized Celtic knot on a sierra

This one is for splitting blanks diagonally for the edge pieces on the diamond design pen two pieces of MDF one split down the middle at 45 deg and both pieces ctuck on another piece with the angled edges in the middle to create a bed for your blank

Well done Woody, it is good to see that making knots isn't as difficult as one thinks, this should give confidence to new starters in making these cuts, thanks for sharing ..

Very clever

very clever

If you look in the title of the thread it said "simple" so how can they be clever as well..?:devil:

Nice to see something as easy as that Grandfather, (ye old one that must be respected)

I have seen some very complex ones over the years but just shows how easy they are to make. Mine is just as simple, like me..:face:

Based on Terry and Frankie's or was it Rowdy's, jigs but made simpler like yours to use the fence and the guide slot.

Very useful jigs Woody. Like Roy, I will have to get a bandsaw when funds permit

My first segmented pens I made using a mitre block and saw including the Celtic knot so you don't really need a band saw they just make the job easer

Excellent Woody, I'm sure you could make a living out of this wood turning lark if you fancy coming out of retirement :rolling::rolling::rolling:
