Hi All

This may be a dafter question that it sounds to me, and I'm asking it!

I'm just about ready to put colour into acrylic to cast some blanks and it occured to me that even on the many many YouTube vids no one talks about how to get an agreeable pattern, I've seen a number of implements stuck into tubes of mix and the pattern comes out randomly, does anyone have a "working technique or implement" to get repeatable-ish patterns.....slow left hand twist as the mixer is removed, small up and down circles as the mixer is removed etc...is it imporant or am I just being an OCD bottomvoid??

Humour me, it's in my nature

Regards

Kevin

I think you will find people reluctant to give up their trade secrets on this one, that's what stands them apart from others.
Wish you luck though and will watch with interest init?

You will find your own way of doing it, it is far simpler if you are using the horizontal trough moulds as you can actually see what is happening, but with the vertical tube moulds you have to rely on having the resin at the right stage and your technique of using your favourite swizzle stick.

If you make a small batch of resin up, then spread it thinly on a piece of glass then wait till it's gone off to the point where you can cut it into strips, you can add ribbons to the main blank for casting. like the shockwave blanks

That technique is great with the horizontal moulds, but I would think near impossible with vertical tubes, the chip style blanks work well in those.
