Wych Elm with spirit stain and Gilt cream.
Not really a colourer, but had to try it!

It certainly is a lovely bowl and you have done a brilliant job on it.
I can't help wondering what it would look like without the colour, just me being pedantic init?
After all I am such a curmudgeon.

I like that, the stain seems not to heavy so you get the benefit of the grain still.

Beautiful work Neil mate. The colouring is very subtle, as it doesn't look like a light bowl sitting in a dark bowl. Lovely balance of form, shape and colour sir!:thumbs:

Thanks for all your comments guys.
Brian, it didn't look that great without the stain. Although it's lovely grain, Wych Elm can have dark markings in it which make it look dirty.
This one had them by the bucket load. Fortunately there is only one small spot visible in the bowl itself.
Regards,
Neil
