Just spent a harrowing few hours putting the nova xp together. With the weight of it its a 2 man job and my shoulders jiggered so the wife had to provide the muscle. After much striving and swearing - and her a staunch catholic too!! - I've just switched it on. 3500 revs and not a sound out of it, pound coin balanced on the top never moved. Pity I'm too knackered to do anything.

The builder finally returned and put a new roof on - free of charge, so although its taken him months to return and sort it out he didn't quibble in the end. Just need a bit of time now. The wife's just gone to mass. She needs to say a few hail marys after this morning!!:whistling:

Happy new lathe Keith how does it line up, does it have fixed speeds? Apart from some special times the variable speed controls main value IMHO is the controlled start up. Neat high speed sounds beaut. I too look forward to the pics trust your shoulder picks up pretty devastating injury.

Kind regards Peter.

Oooooh, sounds exciting Keith! I know how you feel, spent Friday afternoon under the new caravan fitting a motor mover. Yesterday I ached in places I never knew I had places ...
