After having asked advice from George and watched loads of Youtube videos, this was my first attempt at a banksia pod pen blank. I turned this one straight out of the mould, with no tube as I was just excited and wanted to see the result. This was the end piece in the mould and was a separate piece just squeezed in to fill the space hence the straight edge.

Fab blank can't wait to see the pen when you do it. I was only thinking today if I could make pens from banksia pods. I got 4 the other day but my thoughts were to cut the pod up in to blanks and turn then fill any voids with metal powders :nooidea:

Hi Paul

Well done with that blank, just a quick question, is that a red resin cast encased in a clear cast, it's such a good finish I wondered if it had been done twice.

Regards
Kevin
