Well i have 5kg of water clear polyester resin that arrived this week and some new Acrylic Paints to test. I have not done any casting this year so i am hoping that i can give it some hammer over the next few weeks. I also bought some pen moulds from Timberbits to try out some ideas i have, hence why i wanted those white tubes. Results pending ..

People forget that we have some high temperature in the UK I can guarantee we will hit 30, I just can't predict which day it will be.

Well i managed to have a go with testing this Acrylic paint for pen blanks, the results were not good. When first poured into the tubes the colours were very vibrant but started to fade after a few hours. The blank finished with a mottled look that doesn't look to good I'm afraid.

Thou to be honest i had a feeling that i had bought a white elephant after squeezing the paint into the PR as it didn't feel good on the stick, when stirring.

I would advise not to buy any of this for your castings ..

What a shame, but it's all knowledge. It's odd how they faded that much.

A most disappointing result there methinks.
I am glad I haven't started making blanks yet and so glad there are members on here who are continually trying new products/methods. More power to your elbow.
