Hello. Good luck with solving the depression here. You might instead pick up a load of other stuff.

Joking aside hope it helps nothing like shredding some shavings.

Ps the chaps are a friendly bunch and I really recommend you post your work. Doesn't matter if it's rough the chaps are very helpful and are not " precious ".

Welcome Ian. I identify with your motivation for starting turning. It does help, you can go into your shed, shut the door and as soon as you're stood there making shavings nothing else matters.
Looking forward to seeing your work. This forum is my second home, and you will get honest opinions and help with questions from some of the kindest most generous people that occupy this earth!!

Hi Ian and welcome to the forum. I'm certain your new hobby will help, it'll certainly be a distraction anyway.

Welcome Ian. I find that the shed is like a sanity lock where thoughts of everyday life don't exist and all problems can be resolved with a chisel or the bin. I look forward to seeing some of your work.

Enjoy the forum, it is the best place to be for sure.
