Sassafras Handle For Drill

I was using a 7mm drill today by hand to clean the ends of pen blanks with plastic glued to the ends, after only a few seconds the drill end was digging into the palm of my hand, and with several blanks still to clean i had the thought of making an handle.

Why didn't i think of this before ... :thinks:

I found this old piece of Sassafras in a box under the bench with which i made the handle.

To drill the hole for the handle i turned the Sassafras to a size so that it would fit into the bore of the Spindle on the head stock ...

I cant grasp how the wood remained in the center? Nice little tool thou Jim. :thumbs:
