Managed to finally get in the shed for a bit.

Was given some aluminium bar a while back & decided to experiment just to see if I could do it.
Turned on the wood lathe with wood turning tools.

A Spring Blossom in Aluminium.

Even tho it's a big pen it feels a nice weight & balanced.

That is something very different Steven, you have done a fine job with it, how did you polish it up?

Cheers Jim,

Sanded it with wet & dry to 1200 grit but also used cutting oil on the sandpaper, then used burnishing cream & a good polishing with a cloth.
Tried putting a lacquer finish on it but it didn't look right so snaded it off again.

You have done a real good job with it .. It is usually very difficult to remove the scratches with this material ... :thumbs:
