I managed to get to the shed for a bit so made this one and a slimline from a piece of spalted Hazel picked up whilst walking the dogs a few days ago.

Very nicely done Paul!
I've got a few bits of Berberis kicking about, awaiting the arrival of the Gun metal Omega.

Lovely job dad but I think you have some dog poo on the lens, same spot both pens.
Might need a wipe off mate.

Had a wry smile when I read picked up whilst walking the dogs in this City it is compulsory to carry a plastic bag walking dogs and the pick ups are never so pleasant one advantage of rural living Paul no such niceties you can pick up timber like this. The great happening is making pens from obscure pieces never know what will turn up.

Like the pens Paul. :thumbs::thumbs:

I agree about the hazel. I would never have thought to turn a pen from a piece of timber picked up so recently. I always assumed it would have to dry for a few months but I am obviously wrong there. Memo to self!:thumbs:

It was very dry when I picked it up Allen and I put it on the Aga overnight which dries anything.
