I was having a bit of a tidy up and was going to chuck some offcuts of kiln dried oak in the but wondered what it would look like cross cut. Here it is on a slimline. The sides of it is very translucent.

What a beauty, really glad you didn't throw this Paul, i didn't know that Oak could make such a cracking pen .. :thumbs:

I love Xcut oak it brings the flower out in the grain, especially when it is finished as well as this pen is Paul.:thumbs:

I stabilized a piece of Oak with red coloured juice. It was interesting but yours is one hell of a lot nicer. Is your pen red or white Oak? It looks like red Oak.
