There must be a better way than sanding?

I have a piece of oak 12 x 12 x 2 inches, i will be cutting pieces from it on my band saw keeping the 12" length by 50mm wide, how would you you sand the pieces after they have been cut? I need them all to be smooth and even. I don't have a planer obviously, but i find it hard work sanding them all individually. :nooidea:

Please give me a better idea.

If you take your time with the initial ripping on the bad saw Tony, use a bench sander. As long as you don't be heavy handed with it, it will do you a good job. :thinks:
