I have had a number of attempts of making a shallow bowl but this is the first one that i managed to finish without making a mistake where it made the project worthy of the skip only. This is the first time also that i used Cole Jaws to finish the base which helped tremendously.

The plate is made from Mahogany

Very nice Bowl Jim, What sort of Mahogany is it?
The Mahogany here is quite pale.

The log was marked up as just Mahogany Mark, so cant help you with this? Thou i am know in possession of a big slab of Brazilian Mahogany ...

Lovely bowl and great finish! What did you finish it with?

I finished this with EEE Ultra Shine and Shellawax Cream David, i use it regular on dark woods. Cocobolo comes up great using these two combined.

Mahogany was very popular here in UK in the 80's for fire surrounds and shelves. Now the same pieces are used in woodturning. :whistling:
