Has anyone done a mix with out of date resin, and if so did it turn ok? :nooidea:

Not done much with resin Jim but I know it will set eventually on its own without hardener so I reckon It's worth a try!:nooidea:

I do know, if the resin or hardener happens to have gone hard, stick some water in a saucepan, and pop the polythene containing it into the boiling water, and heat it up, like you would with honey, and it goes thin again, and works a treat.

Mixed results. I've done some in the past to make a test blank when i first started casting and they were ok. But i put a lot of the failures down to inexperience with them. I guess eventually the resin would be a bugger to mix with the catalyst if its quite far past its date.

If it is still liquid then use it, I have used it when it has been a year old and it still worked ok. I wouldn't try it on a watch part blank as that would be too much work to risk cocking it up, but if it just a colour mix I would use it.
