Trying for a different look on my serpentine blanks to keep things interesting. First pen is Walnut blank with Mahogany and Maple veneer.

I couldn't leave well enough alone so I doubled up the veneer. Walnut blank with double Mahogany and Maple.

Which one looks best to you? Should I pursue making more? If so which one?

The single veneer blank is my favorite out of the two. Although i can see doubling up the veneers could give a 3d effect. So there we go. I'm not really much help. I like them both

Lovely looking blanks. I think I prefer the single veneer, but I certainly like the double too. More choice is always good, especially when all the choices are this good!

I think the single veneer is more striking. Having said that, have you tried tha double using a second veneer that is more contrasting to the main barrel? I wonder if its just that the second veneer and barrel are quite similar in colour at the moment.

All look like a top job.. certainly not a marmite job as either way they will be loved.. just minor taste differences
