A very quick update.

My current thinking with regards to Mirfield 1 is doing it in October Half term.

I plan to hold it in a local church hall.

2 Demonstrators

Buffet lunch

Charity Auction

And optional real ale tour.

All money made from ticket sales and auction will be split between two charities, the local Hospice and Pens 4Heros.

Would October work for people?

Should be good for us Dan.
Now if we bring one of those Lemon Drizzle cakes, and you introduce a blank for sale with the same name, I think you may be on to a winner mate!:whistling::funny:

How far is anywhere in the UK? I will look up a map to refresh I found 4 hrs London to Edinburgh quite handy my meetings used to take me 3000 kms or more from time to time its relative.Ask the Tennant Creek governor of humour how far he travels for his monthly meetings on weekends. Is it a problem driving in the UK?

Peter.

I think the problem with driving in the UK relates to its small size 245,000 square Km & its population of roughly 65 million, you're never far from a large populace so driving during the day means inevitable hold ups due to congestion. I'm guessing at over 31 times the size of the U.K. Australia at 7,692,000 square Km with a population of only 24 million distance is more the problem rather than congestion :nooidea:

No mate Pub crawl is pommy talk for a pub crawl?

It ain't necessarily a matter of distance but a lot of these ol codgers and meself included, have health issues that don't allow them to travel the distance or time init?

Mirfield is fortunate to have a number of nice real ale pubs in close proximity. I was thinking of Woody ;)

I think its like a cold depends where you get it I used a Britrail pass and paid for a first class supplement meant I could wander up and sit in first or second class. Never did get used to the term left luggage dept.
