Hi all.
Hoping to pick up some tips and hints along the way.
Picked up a midi lathe a couple of months back and been turning the odd pen.
Had some nightmares with acrylic so stuck to wood. Finally got the hang of acrylic and now love the finish on those.
Always looking out for something different and now looking at trying to cast own blanks hopefully tube in.
Will hopefully share some of my latest pens when I figure out how to shrink the file size.

Thanks and happy turning

Scott

Hi Scott and welcome to the forum. An excellent set of pens there. Now all you need is time, it is amazing how addictive this activity can become.

Yes it is indeed. I picked up a huge bundle of blanks from eBay and that was marked Sicilian Olive Wood. Lovely to turn and the smell was nice too. Love the finish on that pen for now I not letting that one go although have some spalted blanks in the bundle so who knows.
