Hello all, I was very glad I managed to find this beautiful community. Very recently I discovered the art of turning and especially penturning. I'm reading left and right so I manage to accumulate as much as I can before I start.

I have no machinery at all, but I believe that with a reasonable budget I will be able to start. I live in Greece and the main wood that I can get is olive wood of course. Hopefully I will soon be able to show some of my work.

It would be nice if you could share some links etc, for a completely beginner like myself. Thanks in advance.

Hi Kisifer and welcome to the forum, always good to have new turners arriving on the forum, hope you can get your lathe & tools together soon and that we see you turning.

If you have any questions, ask away, there will be someone on here that will have the answer. :thinks:

Hello Xenofon,
yes welcome to the forum, although I have turned wood for a long time, I have just started on pens and have only recently joined this excellent forum, very friendly and helpful. Takes a lot to beat olive wood for looks. I use a pen made from that wood, turned by my son, to write my daily diary.
