Hello, I am very new to pen turning and already I am hooked, it is fascinating. Up till now I have turned about eight pens mostly slimline and one or two sierras.
Every day I can't wait to get to the lathe, but unfortunately it is in the workshop at work, I bought the lathe and all the tools myself, it's not an ideal set up because I still have to do a days work and none of that is supposed to involve turning.
I am a maintenance joiner working at a school.
Anyway, that is me, I look forward to learning a lot from the more experienced pen turners.

Kind regards John.

Welcome John, inreresting combination of lathe at work..:thinks:

that would really frustrate me, looking at the lathe all day and not being able to switch it on until I had clocked off.

Hello John, and welcome.
yes it is frustrating having a lovely machine (Jet 1221vs) in the workshop and only turning at lunch time, I can't even stay behind after work because I have to go and pick the kids up from nursery.
As for school holidays that's when I'm at my busiest. Oh well, at least I get to do something, and I love it.
Obsession, yes, I do believe it is with me.
