Howdy folk!

I've only been working with wood for the past 2 years, mainly on a scroll saw, but in that time have built up a nice little workshop (or at least the desire for more!)

I'm here due to having a brilliant wife who, hearing me say many moons ago that I would like to get into turning, has bought me the following thanks to the black friday sales:

Jet JWL-1015VS lathe with stand,
Axminster Clubman SK100 chuck
5x Henry Taylor turning chisels

So now the fun begins, it's time to research what else I'll be needing to further enjoy this hobby and I look forward to learning and sharing experiences on this forum :-)

Welcome to the forum. Don't be in too much of a rush to go out and buy new tools you may not need. You will need someway of sharpening your tools on a regular basis.

Not in a rush as such, but I am certainly enthusiastic about getting started with the turning! No worries about the sharpening of tools, the wife allowed (read: forgave) the purchase of a Tormek T8 earlier this year and has even gone further to buy all of the jigs (with the exception of the drill bit and moulding knife jigs, which she says is on the list haha)

Hi and welcome sounds like you have all you need to at least start. Find someone near you to show you the basics or even a club. Once you are happy with tool control everything is down hill from there except the spending that is.
