Hi my name is Tony just got into turning still not very good at it,but I enjoy doing pens is there anyone on here who does acrylic blanks but doesn't cost a fortune to post with me been a newbie don't want to pay loads .Great forum I hope you don't mind me asking to many questions lol????

Hi from just up the road in Sunderland! If you're ever up in Newcastle, you might want to give Vince at the Turner's Workshop a call to see if he's in...he has an Aladdin's cave of penblanks for you to look at!

You can pay a lot for some of Vinces' special blanks but he's got a large choice of very reasonable ones, you'll be like a kid in a sweet shop and he's a likeable and helpful guy. Best to contact him before going though as he isn't always there. The Turners Workshop

I'm just north of Morpeth if you're ever in my area btw

Welcome Tony. Enjoy your stay. Try using scraps of timber that you can find, beg ,borrow or steal until you've mastered your tool & finishing techniques. When youre happy with these them move on to acrylics. They are more expensive than timber to bugger up, especially if the timber is free. Then try Vince as suggested above.:thumbs:
