A quickie thread to say hello.

From the south of the UK and totally new to wood turning and pens.

Good with tools but not used a lathe until now. Have made parts for bikes and
custom bits for cars but only basic stuff.

G/F came home with a lathe for herself a few weeks ago and I’ve got hooked!
Made a few pens but far from perfect and I need to learn a lot .

Employed by the NHS for over 25 years as an EMT 999

Look forward to the forums. I’m an admin on a Nissan forum so good with rules lol

Welcome Graham.
Any questions just ask.
That’s how we’ve all learnt.
Happy pen turning.

Welcome Graham, did anyone warm you about the bottomless pit?
You will make friends here, learn plenty, ( if you ask the questions ) and even learn photography

Welcome Graham
Impressive start!

Be aware this can become addictive and all consuming!
You will go up and come down which may well affect your mortgage, and any other investment.

You will need nerves of steel and strong liquor, to deal with this.
But boy, is it fun and rewarding!

Happy turning
Peter
